Three reads. Clear picture.

Most Notion questions come down to three decisions: which plan do you actually need, which tool fits your workflow, and which templates are worth buying. Start with whichever is most urgent — each post is self-contained.

Common questions

Do I need a paid Notion plan to use most templates?

No — most templates work on Notion's free plan for solo use. The exceptions: templates with AI autofill or agent features require Notion Business ($20/month). Templates shared with more than 10 clients require Plus or better. Start free, install a template, and upgrade only when you hit a specific documented limit.

Is the free plan still good in 2026?

Yes, for solo use. Notion removed the 1,000-block cap for single-member workspaces in 2022. The real 2026 limits are: 5 MB file uploads, 7-day version history, and 10 external guests. See the full plan limits breakdown for the decision framework.

How does DeskFlows choose what to cover?

We cover Notion features, templates, and competing tools that are actively relevant to freelancers, solopreneurs, and students in 2026. Priority goes to topics where official documentation and practitioner community reports let us provide verified, specific guidance — not general overviews available on any landing page.
